The Side of Calipari Rarely Reported

News agencies should be fair. We know they arent, but they should be. In such a spirit, this story about a recent $1 million donation to a Memphis charity should get more national and local press. A group that helps underprivileged children in the Memphis area, a place where I remind everyone that he does not even live at this point, received the donation (payable over the next few years) from Calipari. The news story above highlights the work Calipari has done with the organization and what the donation will mean to the group.
Bomani recently told me “the reason I like Cal is simple. He does right by the kids.” He was talking in the context of his players, but it equally applies to children helped by organizations such as this. My hope is that the work is recognized by those in the media. It is a side of Calipari one rarely hears about, but it is worth noticing.

you'll never hear this hit national media for the simple fact that it is cal. it would tarnish his sleazy image that espn and others like to paint of him so they wouldn't wanna do anything to change that. think about what most of us probably thought of cal before he came here or 2 to 3 years ago. we judged him by what the media has always reported on him and i think that the majority of us agree now that he is a much better person than any of us ever thought he was. MOFO espn.

You know when Cal was at memphis he never bothered me, I know a lot of UK fans didn't like him while he was there, guess I just didn't worry about him as much as others. The man can coach, no matter what anyone says he can flat out coach. It is sad that this won't be talked about on ESPN , but we knew it happen and thats all that really matters.
