Could Terrence Jones Have Already Given a Verbal?

We are now T minus 30 hours from the next recruiting announcement that will shake the KSR server and (potentially) cause the necessity of a Live Blog. Terrence Jones decides at 6:30 but there is some speculation that Jones may have already made his decision. Larry Vaught has reported that a UK source says Jones is going to be a Cat and that the verbal has either already happened or will in the next 24 hours. Vaught was incorrect about the Marquis Teague situation but we love Larry Vaught and he does a great job at knowing the inner workings of all things UK. If he says UK believes they will get a verbal, I believe that is what UK believes. Whether or not it happens remains to be seen.

What is clear is that the Jones decision will have a huge impact on 2010. The new thing in statistical analysis for basketball players is to decide whether the player can contribute beyond the average player at the position. In my view, Jones would score off the chart at that characteristic as he is PERFECT for the DDO. Others on the board, including Marcus Thornton could be good producers at UK and over time develop into great players. But the one player in the class at PF who was created to run the Dribble-Drive, face up to the basket and play the perfect 4 and part-time 5 for Calipari is Jones. Friday is another big day for the Big Blue and we will see if another home run can be hit.
