He's not ready. Everyone knows that and he would be making a huge mistake if that happens. The only reason he leaves is if Cal has someone that has committed that is going to come in and start over him next year.

Yeah, with Orton fouling out, alot, no way is he ready. To me I think he was a bit over rated coming out of High School. He's come on recently but he has played WAY too timid this year. Now if he came in like Cousins and played like he's going to own you and make you his, well you know, then I might think differently but he's played soft all year.

Re: Orton to the NBA?
NBA drafts on POTENTIAL. He'd be damn-near guaranteed first round, especially how he's stepped up in the tournament. We could conceivably lose FIVE players to the draft...and probably replace them with five more that could go next year.
I'm not saying 100% whether he goes or not, but it's foolish to think he's not ready.

Re: Orton to the NBA?
Orton already has the NBA body, and is a hell of s shot blocker, He wouldn't have to score a lot just rebound and defend, I think he is ready also, just hate to see these guys go, been a great year watching them all.
Re: Orton to the NBA?
Is Orton ready for the NBA? Probably. I think he would benefit more by staying another year, though. All eyes will be on him next season. He'll most likely be the best big man in the country, much like DeMarcus Cousins is this year. Orton's stock will rise significantly if he stays.

I agree with Bho and Blue Dude that he's not ready. I don't think he'd go very high either.

Kentucky's Daniel Orton considering jumping to NBA

Kentucky freshman Daniel Orton, a former Bishop McGuinness standout, doesn’t start for the Wildcats, but there is speculation that he will jump to the NBA after the season.
MultimediaPhotoview all photos "That is not something I am thinking about, but if I had a good tournament and we won the national championship that would be a possibility,” the 6-foot-10 Orton said Friday. "I would say you would have to think about it. That would be a great way to carry on my career. That is something I have always wanted to do, so who knows what could happen.”

You could make the same arguement for Cousins as well. They both would benefit if they came back. Cousins would be the number 1 pick in 2011.

Cuz may be the number 2 pick in 2010. Orton would get drafted based on potential, but if he came back, he could be a lottery pick in 2011. I don't think Bledsoe will go, but who knows. If he's projected to go in the first round, I wouldn't blame him. Another year and he could be a lottery pick as well. Who knows, if Krebbs had 4 years under Cal, he might go as well. LOL.

I would draft Cousins #1 if I had the pick this year.SouthernIndianaCatsFan wrote:You could make the same arguement for Cousins as well. They both would benefit if they came back. Cousins would be the number 1 pick in 2011.
