New Ranking?

Where do you all think we will be when the new polls come out. I kinda think we'll fall to about 4th:

1. Kansas
2. Syracuse
3. Villanova
4. Kentucky
5. Michigan St.

You are probably right with those rankings, but I never understand the rationale they use. We were ranked higher than Syracuse & Nova when we both had no losses, so why should they leapfrog us when we both have one loss?

I agree OBX. I hate the fact that whoever has the most recent loss seems to be lower ranked. Doesn't seem right but who cares now at this point. We've been to number 1 and now we're past that. At least now a lot of the hype and expectations have been brought down a notch. I kinda hope we stay around the 3-5 ranking for the rest of the season.

Notice who was #1 last year at the start of the NCAA.

Didn't work out too well for them.

honestly, we should be #2.

#2.......with the way KU & Texas only fell no more than 2 and the way we beat Vandy we should only drop one spot IF any. KU did not have enough of an impressive win yesterday to take the number 1 spot. .....Maybe we will see a two-four way TIE for first place, I could live with that. LOL

I totally agree. I don't remember who said it yesterday, but they said the problem with rankings is that they are based on the previous week to an extent and the season as a whole. Now, with that logic, I really don't care where we rank for the rest of the season, as long as we get a #1 seed in the dance.

I'm thinking #2 behind Kansas. The decisive win over Vanderbilt, on ESPN, should have helped a lot.

Going into yesterday I thought we'd be #4 behind Kansas, Villanova, and Syracuse.

But after Syracuse struggled to beat Depaul, I think it will be Kansas then Villanova, then us.

I think 3, maybe 2. It doesn't matter. We take care of business, lose no more than one, maybe two more conference game, and make the finals of the SEC tourney, we'll get a #1 seed. That's all I'm worried about.

If we are in the top 5 I am good, I just want the Cats to come out and kick ass no matter where they are ranked.
