Wildcats Take 16-Game Streak to Gainesville

The Cats posted a 76-68 win over Georgia in their SEC opener, running their season-opening winning streak to 16 games, the school’s best start to a season since starting the 1966 season 23-0.

After trailing the Bulldogs at halftime 35-34, the Wildcats outscored Georgia by nine in the second half in the see-saw victory. The game saw nine ties and 12 lead changes before the Cats took control down the stretch.

Patrick Patterson and John Wall led Kentucky in scoring with 17 points each while DeMarcus Cousins scored 16 points and pulled down a team-high seven rebounds. Wall also managed a game-high five assists. The Wildcats were outrebounded for the second straight game, 36-33
