Could Be Our Year
The Gators are looking great. Maybe this year we break through and win in the Elite Eight. I ope we haven't peaked too soon though, and we all know it only takes one of day in the tournament and your whole season is shot. But this team is far better than the last two and those really should have been in the Final Four. So this one has a shot.

Bad news on Yeguete today. That will definitely hurt your depth.

It certainly won't help. But we've been playing a man short all year so, no excuses. When you're number is called, go out and play.

Re: Could Be Our Year
Gators went cold last night and let Mizzu crawl back into the game.
I think that's Florida's biggest question mark. If they aren't shooting really well then can they handle someone with a good big man like Indiana or Duke. Missouri isn't great inside but they seemed to control the paint at times.
Good game to watch no matter the outcome. Florida had a really good look for the last shot, much better than I thought they would get with 3.3 left.

Re: Could Be Our Year
For whatever reason, and this has been the case ever since Billy became our coach, we have games every once in a while where we don't want to go inside. We want to jack threes up all night whether we are in the lead or not. I don't know why this is. Last night Billy ripped into them before halftime for shooting too many threes and it's like it went in one ear and out the other. Boynton drives it in gets fouled and goes to the line and gives us a four point lead. then the last two possessions he launches three balls off the dribble. Doesn't even attempt to take it in the paint. Threes happen when you are open. They get open when the ball goes into the paint and comes back out again. You cannot just pass the ball and dribble the ball around the arc and then fire one as the shot clock is winding down. Young should be pissed after that game last night.
Even so, the refs did their typical piss poor job. Every Mizzou foul was met with yelling, slamming the ball on the floor, or throwing air punches, no technicals. And how do you travel when you don't have the ball in your hands? Young grabs a rebound, falls to the ground, let's the ball go on the way down, and gets a traveling call? WTF is that? Then Mizzou hits a three afterwards.
I guess you can tell I'm a tad pissed off?

Re: Could Be Our Year
I agree with the ball slamming. Mizzu slammed it down once after a call and I just knew a "T" was coming but nothing. Camera angle showed the ref looking right at him. Only thing I can figure is that he didn't slam it and let it bounce up. He kept it in his hand so it just made a loud noise.
Missouri played well and didn't give up but Florida gave that game away. They could have stopped the run but just seemed to be off a bit.
Pressey can really play. Best court vision I've seen.

0-3 in games decided by fewer than 10 points. That does not bode well going into the tournament

True, but they have the players and coach to win. Every past winner had to have a little luck every now and again, no matter how good they were.

No big deal. We had six guys. If we play them in the tournament with Yeguette and Ffrazier we'll beat them by 15

I thought they would beat UT anyway but the Vols are really on a roll. They are playing wtih confidence.
Once again, this is why I don't bet on sports.

I made a few bucks betting on Tennessee. They had us favored by 8.5. I said "well, if you're just giving the money away..."

I picked them to make it to the final 4 but to be honest I don't feel good about any of my final 4 picks except Miami. I think they are strong.

Really? You got Minnesota beating you guys after they have gone 5-11 in their last 16 games?
After Seeing the PAC-12 go 3-0 yesterday, I expect to see UCLA beat the Fighting Tubbys by 20+.

Yep. That's how confident I am that we will choke. We may not even get that far. I can see us pulling a New Mexico.

Re: Could Be Our Year
I'm hoping they catch on fire. Losing the SEC tournament usually helps out, at least for the first few games.

I had hopes of Mizzou doing well in the SEC and in the NCAA. Missed that one badly.

I guess I will keep picking against us and bad-mouthing our players. It seems to be working so far. FGCU is going to kick our ass!
