Man airlifted, children hurt in ATV crash with deer

LANCASTER COUNTY (SC) - A Lancaster man and two children were injured in a ATV collision with a deer Wednesday night in Lancaster County.

James Arant, 35, was airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center after the 11:30 p.m. crash, said Lance Cpl. Billy Elder of the S.C. Highway Patrol.

Two passengers, a 13-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy, were taken to Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster for treatment.

Arant and the children were on a 4-wheeler riding on Taxahaw Road when they hit the deer, Elder said.

The deer died.
