Last Missed Shot...
Went back and watched Liggins' final three from last night.
No doubt UConn was expecting Knight to take the last shot and had doubled him out near the top of the key. When Knight cutback using a Harrelson pick, Liggins was wide open. Liggs shot the ball with about 6.4 seconds left.
Once Harrelson had set his pick, he rolled to the baseline under the basket and Jones went from the corner to the baseline. Looks like Jones tipped the ball away from a UConn player and backward, toward where Liggins was and ended up in UConn's hands. If Jones doesn't tip if out, Harrelson was there and could have gotten the rebound. But Jones was battling a Huskie for the tip as well.
Second-guessing here, but Liggins had an open lane to drive down. Thinking Liggins' shot might have been a first option if there wasn't something better available. Any other thoughts about that shot?
Thinking because of his shot vs. UNC and/or the shot he put up late that he was fouled on that he felt like he wanted to be the hero with a long three? And on the last shot, looked like Lamb wasn't working at all to get open and he had a nice second half shooting. Thinking that the final play was set up to be only a Knight or Liggins play?

I thought it was a bad shot, but Knight was shooting short all night also. I was really hoping Liggins would have hit those 3 free throws and tied it. Free throws us what killed them. I think Jones went 0-5 at the free throw line. I guess what hurts the most is we know UK should have won this game and like last year they just couldn't hit nothing. They made a great comeback, but then went cold again. But they had a great year and I sure am proud of em.
Re: Last Missed Shot...
It was definitely a pick & roll for Knight & Harrelson but UConn picked up Knight with a solid double team who kicked it out to an open Liggins. I thought it was draino when it left his hands. Only thing I would've done different was have Lamb or Miller in that spot where Liggins was located. But Liggins had been hitting big shots the last few games, this one came up about an inch short, so close yet so far away

Still hurts. I thought they would try to get in the paint, and I think that was the plan. U-Conn defended it well. Liggo could have been closer, but the release looked great, and I thought it was in. Still hurts, but they have nothing to be ashamed of. I'm not much on moral victories, and this is no moral victory. It was a gift to U-Conn, but they played hard. Fought their asses off. I'm very proud of this team. I would love to see Butler win.

Liggins said he didn't know if he could get a better shot and thought he would knock it down. Also BD, Liggins was only shooting 2 ft's at the end after his foot was on the line. He hit 1 of 2.

They did what they could. The foul line was our demise.

I knew he couldn't get a better shot, I was just wish someone else could have took it, Knight,Lamb, or Miller. But its over now. Ready for next year.

I had no problem with Ligs taking the shot, he could have been closer.

Lamb had been the hot hand in the half. He should have taken the shot. When Liggins caught the ball. Lamb should have been cutting down the baseline to the corner near Liggins. Liggins should have drove, and dumped to Lamb in the corner.
At least that would've been a good draw up..
