Another hunter is hatched!
Took a friend's 14 year old on his first ever hunt today. He got a 5 point. He was so excited. It was really cool. The kid I took in November was his cousin. It was my privelige to witness both of those 14 year olds get their first deer this year. This is not a normal 14 year old. He's 6-2, 275. Benches 255, and squats 375. Backup center for Bowling Green varsity. He'll start next year. I never had such an easy 100 yard deer drag. Next year will be my daughter's turn.

BHO, I'm guessing you are too old for a youth hunt. You should try it. Hunting is a great passtime. The tablefare rewards are excellent. Deer and other game animals are very healthy sources of protein.

Man I really wanted to go deer hunting this afternoon, but 10 degree windchill is too much for me to just shoot a doe. If I had a spot where I felt like I had a chance of seeing a good buck, I'd be out there. I haven't seen, nor got a photo of a good buck all season. I'll be looking for greener pastures next year.
