John Calipari says he is pleasantly surprised by a lot of things after two days of practice with his new, and very young, team.
UK gets ten practices before their trip to Canada in mid-August.
Calipari said that he had no idea that Stacey Poole was as skilled as he is and Cal says he didn't know Brandon Knight was so athletic.
Enes Kanter has shocked Cal with his skill level and he said Doron Lamb is extremely fast.
Calipari said that while Terrence Jones will be a playmaker, he is still battling an ankle injury and is only practicing at about 75% and nothing is live. Cal says Jones is going to treatment three to four times a day because he definitely wants to be on the court when the Cats go to Canada.
Calipari says the Canadian trip is all about one thing, bringing the team together, and the sooner that happens, the better off this group will be.

I haven't seen anything if they are.

Maybe I'm just an optimist, but I really think this team will be better come March than last year. They are certainly going to be more exciting. More speed and athleticsm on the floor pretty much all the time. That combination has led Cal to say he will press much more. This is going to be a fun team to watch. I am really looking forward to this season.
