Wildcats boast four of the top seven NBA rookies, Summer League has become an extended UK recruiting pitch

In what has become a summer time obsession for the Bluegrass, it is important to note that our former Kentucky Wildcats are pretty much dominating the NBA Summer Leagues. Face it, even if you are not watching, you can pretty much bet that most of the high school recruits with hoop dreams are, and the NBA Summer League has become an extended UK recruiting commercial.
They are keeping a "top rookies" ladder on NBA based on performance in the league, and to no one's surprise, former Kentucky players make up four of the seven players in the league thus far. The Lakers Derrick Caracter currently holds the tops spot, but DeMarcus Cousins and John Wall are currently filling the "place" and "show" positions. Cousins had a huge night last night, with 19 points and 12 boards for his second straight double double. Does that sound familiar?

Patrick Patterson occupies the fifth spot. It should be noted that he had 14 points and 9 rebounds last night going up against "top rookie" Caracter last night. Eric Bledsoe is currently rated seventh.

Tonight should provide another Wall/Bledsoe double header for your viewing tonight. John Wall faces the Mavericks at 8 PM while Bledsoe's Clippers meet Portland at 10PM.

Oh, I know that the BBN is pretty passionate about on line polls and such. John Wall is currently losing a NBA rookie of the year poll to Blake Griffin right now.
