Cocks Win 12th Straight - Remain Unbeaten In SEC Play

USC beats Auburn for 12th straight win

South Carolina extended its winning streak to 12 games Friday night, defeating Auburn 11-5 at Plainsman Park in the first of the team's three-game weekend series.
Twelve of the game's 16 runs were scored in the first two innings, with the Gamecocks posting five runs in the top of the second.
The win pushes USC's record to 18-4 overall and 4-0 in SEC play. Auburn drops to 16-6 (3-1).
The Gamecocks got home runs from Parker Bangs, Adam Matthews and Scott Wingo. Bangs and Matthews batted in three runs each.
Blake Cooper got the win for USC, striking out five and giving up four earned runs in seven innings.
The teams do battle again at 1 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
