Kentucky Advanced Camps
’11-’12 Seniors
May 30, June 13 and June 19

These camps provide instruction for all offensive and defensive positions. The Kentucky football staff will teach the basic fundamentals and emphasize individual techniques in order to develop better overall players and those that want to fit within the team concept.

Each camper will select an offensive and/or defensive position and may split times of instruction for a well-rounded experience.

Cost: $30 (Day)

Junior Wildcat Camps
Age 8-13
June 1-3 and June 14-16

Campers will learn the basic fundamentals that will give them the opportunity for success in their budding football careers.

Kentucky’s highly experienced coaching staff will offer a hands-on approach in dealing with the younger campers, helping them to appreciate the game of football to its fullest.

At the camp, every individual will receive as much special attention as required to enhance the experience of the youngest players. Finding a position that best suits his abilities without the distraction of older players and pointing each camper in the right direction are goals of the camp.

Costs: $175 (Day Camp Only)

Wildcat Skills And Linemen Camp
June 8-10

This camp is for all serious players, regardless of position. This is a non-contact camp, but each participant will be required to wear a helmet and shoulder pads to allow maximum teaching of proper technique.

The offensive lineman will work in the areas of pass blocking, run blocking and recognizing defensive fronts and promoting communication among the men in the trenches.

Defensively, emphasis will be in the areas of defeating or avoiding the different run blocks, perfecting skills for rushing the passer with football and hand-to-hand techniques as well as many other fundamentals.

The Skills Camp for offensive and defensive players is an outstanding way to prepare players for the mental focus needed for the season as the total football atmosphere will be re-created.

Players can not only work on individual techniques, but then meld those skills into the framework of offensive and defensive systems.

The six practice sessions will provide the athletes, veteran and rookie alike, with an exposure to the competitive atmosphere they will encounter in the fall.

This camp will begin Monday afternoon and conclude after the morning practice Wednesday to help control costs and allow UK to keep camp fees consistent.

Friday Night Blue Lights Camp
‘11 Seniors Only
June 11

This camp assists players to hone their skills and athletic capabilities to complete their careers in high school to the utmost and provide instruction in advancing their individual abilities for those who desire to continue their football careers after high school.

Each camper will select an offensive and/or defensive position and be given individual instruction for the purpose of skill advancement.

Orientation on what to expect during the recruiting process will also be discussed and Kentucky facilities will also be viewed.

Limiting participants to seniors-to-be will be strictly enforced to allow as much individual coaching as possible.

Middle School 7-on-7 Passing Tournament
June 12

The third Kentucky Football Camp’s Middle School 7-on-7 Passing Tournament is conducted Saturday, June 12. Teams are guaranteed four games.

The University of Kentucky practice fields adjacent to the Nutter Training Center is the site of the Passing Tournament. Depending on entries, the Nutter Indoor Facility and other fields are available if necessary.

Teams can bring cleats or flat-bottom shoes because the outdoor practice fields and the Nutter Indoor Facility both have artificial surfaces where cleats are permitted.

$175 Per Team (Saturday)

General Camp Information

Eligibility

Youngsters interested in football must be at least eight years of age to participate in a Kentucky Football Camp and can not have begun taking classes associated with the senior year of high school. The specifics:

Wildcat Advanced Camps (May 30, June 13 and June 19): These day camps are available to athletes who have finished their sophomore seasons, but have not begun their senior year of high school. It will focus on skills and athleticism growth based on the camper’s specific needs or preferred position.

Junior Wildcat Camp (June 1-3 and June 14-16): The day camp (9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.) is open to those between the ages of 8-13 years inclusive. Players in the upper ages who are advanced in size or experience may petition to take part in the Wildcat Skills or Lineman Camp.

Wildcat Skills Camp (June 8-10): The overnight camp is available to athletes at least 14 years of age or who will be beginning their freshman year in high school and those who have not begun their senior year. Day campers are welcome at the Wildcat Camp. The camp will be conducted in a 7-on-7 format with an emphasis on team concepts. Changes have been made in this event’s schedule to avoid raising fees for this popular camp.

Linemen Camp (June 8-10): Overnight campers will be schooled and drilled in both offensive and defensive technique with the same age requirements as the Skills Camp.

Friday Night Blue Lights (June 11): This evening camp is available to athletes who will be entering their senior year in high school. It will provide teaching and evaluation for athletes who just want to improve for their final year of high school or desire to play football at the next education level.

Friday Blue Lights Kicking (June 11): This camp is available to athletes who will be entering their junior or senior year in high school. It will provide teaching and evaluation for kickers, punter and snappers who just want to improve for their final year(s) of high school or desire to play football at the next education level.

Middle School Passing Tournament (June 12): Available to organized teams only. Please contact camp administration to register or receive information.

Application

Interested participants for all four camps must complete fully the attached application along with accompanying medical insurance form. The Kentucky Football Camps require a $50 non-refundable deposit to reserve space. The initial deadline for applications is June 1 or until maximum participant capacity is reached. The Kentucky Football Camp and the University of Kentucky reserve the right to alter camp dates to ensure maximum instruction for all campers.

Registration

All campers will confirm attendance and receive registration materials at the Nutter Training Center prior to the start of each camp. The Nutter Training Center should not be confused with the Nutter Indoor Facility. Please take note of your registration time. Registration will NOT begin early and will conclude promptly at the posted time. Parking for registration and overnight campers is the R3 lot directly north of the Nutter Training Center. The Kentucky Football Camp will not accept responsibility for parking in any other area on campus.

Wildcat Advanced Camps (May 30, June 13 and June 19): Registration will commence at 8:00 a.m. outside the UK locker room. Camp activities start at 10:00 a.m., so all campers should be in attendance no later than 9:45 a.m.

Junior Wildcat Camps (June 1-3 and June 14-16): Campers report between 8:00-9:00 a.m. on the first day of camp to finalize registration. On subsequent days, campers should arrive no later than 9:00 a.m. The dropoff/pickup location is the R lot directly south of the Nutter Training Center. Camp concludes at 1:00 p.m. and campers should be retrieved no later than 1:30 p.m. daily. For those parents who are planning to park to watch camp or register, the R lots north and south of the Nutter Center is not patrolled during the times of the camps.

Skills Camp and Lineman Camp (June 7-9): Participants may begin registration at 12:00 noon, Monday, June 7, and must be on campus by 2:00 p.m. if possible. Overnight campers will be housed in the Kirwan-Blanding dorm complex across the street from the Nutter Center.

Friday Night Blue Lights (June 11): Registration will commence at 4:30 p.m. in the Nutter Indoor Facility. Camp activities start at 6:00 p.m., so all campers should be in attendance no later than 5:45 p.m. Registration for kickers, punters and snappers will commence at 2:30 p.m. outside the UK locker room. Kicking camp activities start at 3:00 p.m., so all campers should be in attendance no later than 2:45 p.m.

Camper Checklist/What To Bring

Participants should not leave home without making sure all necessary items on the following list are in their possession.

Equipment (NOCSAE-approved helmet with chin strap, shoulder pads and mouthpiece) for Skills Camp and Linemen Camp, which are non-contact. Participants will wear shoulder pads and jerseys for safety. Equipment is not required for the Junior Wildcat Camp.
Bedding and toiletries (pillow, POOP, blanket, towel, soap and other desired items)

Shirts (no tanktops), shorts, athletic supporter, white socks, grass cleats and running shoes

Spending money for souvenirs, pizzas and other snacks (Breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided to overnight campers and lunch and dinner are included for day campers. Only lunch is provided to Junior Wildcat campers)

Casual clothing

What Not To Bring

The Kentucky Football Camp suggests campers not bring an excessive amount of money or treasured valuables (rings, watches and jewelry). The camp will not be responsible for lost or stolen personal possessions.

Guns, knives, weapons of any kind, alcoholic beverages and illegal drugs are not allowed at camp and possession of any of these articles will result in immediate expulsion.

Safety and Supervision

Supervision by camp counselors and coaches will be provided on each floor of the residence hall, during meals in the Commons and at all camp activities.

Experienced trainers and the athletic training facilities are available at all times. Each camper is included in a limited coverage accident-sickness insurance policy. This plan is secondary to each camper’s individual coverage.

Refund Policy

If a camper notifies camp administration in advance of the intent to withdraw from The Kentucky Football Camps, a refund will be processed in full except for a minimal service fee. Refunds will be given after the camp begins only in the case of injury or family emergency.

Transportation

Group Discounts

The Kentucky Football Camp is pleased to be able to offer discounts for groups. Groups of 10 or more in the Junior Wildcat Camp will be charged only $160 per camper and groups of 30 or more will pay $140 for the day camp and two coaches will be paid $200 each. For the Skills and Lineman Camp, groups of 10 or more will be charged $200 for overnight campers. For groups of 30 or more campers, the fee will be $175 and two coaches will be paid $200 each. This does not include teams attending the one-day competition events.

UK Discount

The Kentucky Football Camp is pleased to be able to offer a discount to children of UK employees in the Junior Wildcat camps only. Members of the UK family will pay $125 to attend either Junior Wildcat camp. Please present UK ID card at registration for these camps.

Notice:

NCAA rules prohibit payment of camp expenses (camp tuition, transportation, spending money, etc.) for prospects (9th grade and above) by University of Kentucky boosters. NCAA rules also prohibit free or reduced camp admissions for prospects. If you have any questions, notify camp officials prior to attending camp.
