2011 doe bow kill

Shot a doe Saturday afternoon. Hunting from a blind, 41 yard shot, 50 yard sick blood trail. Grim reaper ripped her a new one.

We've got to slay some doe this weekend. They'e taking over.
Lots of jerkey in my future. We had 6 deer in the freezer last year and were out of meat 2 months ago. I'm looking at stocking 8 deer this year.

Cool! We put 3 in the freezer and are out. I'm off until Monday after Thanksgiving. My killing spree has begun. I plan to kill 2 more does and hopefully a good buck in that time. The does will happen. My wife will kill something. Coolest thing so far this year was taking a kid in the youth season and watching him get his first deer, 6 point. I annointed his forehead with blood from his deer. That's the 4th kid the last two years I've taken and got to be a part of their first deer. That is just so cool. I hope my daughter decides to go.

Saw a little 6 point and two does this morning. One of the does was badly crippled. Left front leg broken and bent backwards at the knee. She was pitiful to watch. I shot her to end her agony after watching 3-4 steps. Very sad. She was a big doe. I haven't shot a doe with a gun in 10 years, but I couldn't let her go on like that. Poor girl had recently been hit by a car. Tagged her and gave her to my dad. I get the loins and backstrap!!

Sweet! I've not seen a decent buck thus far. The farm near Mammoth Cave where I had the pics of multiple good bucks has dried up as it always does. Every year, when the acorns hit the ground, they're gone. I had 4 deer pics over the last 12 days. They just go away. Hunting other options. Got a couple of decent bucks on the farm I leased in butler county. A couple will go over 120. Still hunting like crazy. I'm going to sleep in tomorrow. 90% chance of thunderstorms. I can deal with wind and rain, but thunderboomers are keeping me in the sack.

That's 8 and we're stocked. Going to take a few for family members and friends.

PS: Seeing several bobcats. Can't wait till Sat afternoon.
