9/11 - Where Were You?

I Was At Bank Of America Stadium In Charlotte When The Two Towers Fell. And Although Not New York, Charlotte Had Four National Headquarters Of Banks At The Time And a U.S. Mint And Two Nuclear Power Plants Within 10 Miles Of The City. Feeling Very Vulnerable That Day. Went Home And Watched The News For Two Days. That First Night, Instead of Hearing The Planes Land/Depart Charlotte/Douglas Airport, a USAir Hub, I Heard Two Fighter Planes Circle a Few Times, Since One Of The Nuclear Plants Is 8-10 Miles From My Parent's House.

I was asleep. Late night. My ex came in my bedroom that morning said we was being attacked, and I was like what? I thought she was pulling my leg, Because I was thinking there is no way we can be attacked. Turn on the tv and my heart dropped. It was like a nightmare.

I also heard it on Bob and Tom coming home from the Vet with the dog. I was kinda half listening to the program, preoccupied and irritated with driving and making sure the dog that had explosive diarrhea didn't plaster my interior. I thought..."Man! That is really not funny." Thinking that It was some kind of bad joke and turned it off. Got into the house and just as I turned on the TV and saw the second plane hit.

I was sitting at a redlight on Three Springs road on my way to work. I was listening to John Boy and Billy and John Boy said a plane had flown into the WTC. I was thinking a small plane, not a jet, and they didn't give much more info. I got to work about 15 minutes later and they had it on TV. The second one hit a couple of minutes later. I was numb all day, and madder than hell. It's easy to say, but had I been 10 years younger, I would have enlisted that day. I was pissed and wanted revenge bad. I'll never forget that day.

I was sleeping and my mom came in and woke me up. She said a plane had hit the WTC. I thought she was full of it so I turned on the tv and within 5 minutes I watched the second plane hit. I will never forget that image or my feelings right after.
