COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Kentucky-Ohio State NCAA Tournament softball game has been suspended due to inclement weather in the Columbus, Ohio, area.

Play will resume at 10 a.m. ET, Saturday morning with UK leading 3-0 through three innings of play.

NCAA officials have determined rain and lightning will continue to fall throughout the evening hours preventing the game from resuming this evening. Play will begin at 10 a.m. ET tomorrow in the top of the fourth inning with UK getting set to bat.

Game times for tomorrow have now also been altered. The second game between the two winners of the opening rounds will play at 12:30 p.m. The losers for the opening round games will then play at 3. The final game of the day will have a 5:30 start.

UK's offense was quiet to open the game, but erupted for three runs on three hits in the third stanza to help Kentucky to a 3-0 advantage early. Ohio native Annie Rowlands smoked a one-out double that laced the left field line to get a runner on base.

Freshman Kara Dill then hit a chopper that nicked off the pitcher's mit, and the speedy runner was able to reach first before the second baseman could make the throw. The Buckeyes opted to intentionally walk Molly Johnson to load the bags. Natalie Smith wasted little time in delivering a hit when she struck the first offering she saw into the left-center gap for a bases clearing double and the three-run lead.

Ohio State placed a runner on base in each of the first three innings of action, but UK's defense and the right-arm of Bell stifled the Ohio State offense. No runner advanced beyond second base as Bell came up with an inning-ending strikeout in two of the frames.
