The primary purpose of today's news conference was to announce that John Calipari's Family Foundation for Children will join forces with Mike Gottfried's Team Focus Program, which is a mentoring program for young men without fathers.

Here are some notes from the basketball portion of the press conference:

- Kentucky has not received any LOI's today and Calipari stated that he isn't sure he will; he cannot specifically discuss unsigned recruits per NCAA rules, but this is obviously in reference to Terrence Jones

- He stated that he will never recruit a committed player; only way is if the player is decommitted

- Calipari expects Daniel Orton and Eric Bledsoe to hire agents and remain in the NBA Draft

- On GPA problems, Calipari says that bad semesters happen from time-to-time and then refers to his solid GPA's at Memphis and UMass

- "You won't believe this but we'll miss on kids too. We wish them well. We're not getting everyone we want."

- He talks about JV team idea and says it will be for Kentucky kids who have waited their whole life to put on the UK uniform; he adds that some varsity players would have the option of playing on the JV team

- Calipari said he still doesn't know if Darnell Dodson will be a part of the team next season or not
