Pike High School has released to the media that Marquis Teague will be announcing his college decision this Thursday at 1:30 pm EST at the Pike Freshman center. While there haven’t yet been plans made for televising the event, it is open to the media. The finalists for Teague include Kentucky, Louisville, Purdue, Indiana and Cincinnati. A commitment for UK could start making the 2011 class look legendary and a commitment for Louisville probably keeps Pitino from sinking into the recruiting oblivion. Whatever the decision…we’ll know on Thursday.

Everyone should jump on over to the Louisville Rivals board afterwards. It should be very interesting over there.


*Note- This is not me saying where Teague is going. Just saying that...

IF he chooses UL, they'll be talking National Championship in 2011-2012

If he chooses UK, they'll be in full panic mode.

Disclaimer: I have no real knowledge of Teague's choice or his mindset.

That said, I will give my opinion.

NO WAY he's going to U of L. Why would he decommit and then announce so quickly after decommitting unless he was going to change schools?

Look at it this way - if he were going to stay at UL why bother decommitting? He's either going to UK or some other surprise school.

This does bring up a possible dilemma - if Knight stays 2 years due to the lockout we might lose Teague at a later date.

It wasn't Teague who just decommitted.

It was Michael Chandler, a Center in the 2011 class.

There's supposedly been some interest between UK and Chandler, but nothing serious.
