Lovie to UT?

Anyone else hearing all this chatter about Lovie Smith to UT? Supposedly there is a presser tomorrow. See what you internet geeks can find out (I'm not an internet geek, I'm a surfer......of the internet).

Read about it on VolNation but didn't really read much into it. be a nice get for them I suppose.

They are saying that Basilio is reporting it but I can't confirm that.

Well, just found where Tony Basilio is reporting that sources close to the program have said there is a plane on the way to Chicago at 9:10 and that they supposedly have offered $4,000,000 per year.

Then he also said right after that he talked to another source with NFL ties that said $4 Mil won't get it done.

Who knows! I'd like to see them land Lovie. Never thought I'd say this but I almost feel sorry for them.

I'm trying to get VolNation to come back up. They've been having server problems all day long. see if i can find something else. To think David Cutcliffe was the favorite today since Mushcamp or however its spelled said no.

Mix posts about Lovie being in and then Lovie being out. Also seeing Kyle Whittingham's name brought up as well. This madness is almost equal to our coaching search last year for basketball.

However, I think our madness ended up with the #1 guy that we could have ever wanted. There isn't a name out there that you could say would be better.

I don't think even if they got Lovie that it would be as big of a hire as what we got last year.

Here's a name that they should look into....

Kyle Shannahan. Yes, that says Kyle, not Mike.

I'm telling you guys, this is going to be "the next big thing" in coaching. He's young. Very young, but Tennessee would be wise to go after him now, before NFL job offers start coming his way.
