Why SEC Football Is The BEST

Updated since 2010, the SEC has the following since 2006:

* - More bowl wins (42) and appearances (73)
* - Best non-conference winning percentage (regular season and bowls)
* - More appearances in the final USA Today Coaches Poll (8 more than next conference)
* - Of the 29 major individual awards given, the SEC has had at least one recipient in 25 of them
* - SEC football student-athletes and coaches have won 59 major individual awards
* - SEC has had a national player of the year (Heisman, Walter Camp, Maxwell) in five of six years
* - SEC has had 70 players make first-team All-America, including one at every position (offense, defense and special teams)
* - 16 SEC football student-athletes have won 18 national academic and community service awards, including a William V. Campbell Trophy (known as the “Academic Heisman”) and the CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-American of the Year.
* - Since 1992, SEC leads all conferences with 58 selections to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team
* - SEC has had more draft selections each year since 2007 and the most total since 2006 (2013 NFL Draft had 63 SEC selections, more than double that of any conference)
* - SEC leads all conferences in total players on NFL Rosters each year since 2006

And, oh yes, the league has won seven straight BCS national titles, nine BCS titles overall with five different teams.

All of this and the success of the 2013 season. While the SEC may not win the national championship this season (however, there’s still games to play), there is no doubt the SEC is the nation’s top college football conference.
