The longtime University of Alabama athletic director Mal Moore has passed away. The unfortuante news surfaced on Saturday, via Cecil Hurt of

Moore had recently stepped down from his position as athletic director because of health issues. The university replaced him with former Crimson Tide football player Bill Battle will fill the vacancy. Battle was also a former head coach of the Tennessee Volunteers.

We would like to send out our condolences to the entire Moore family and the university. Moore was a key member of the Crimson Tide’s success and was responsible for signing Nick Saban.
