When the Kentucky basketball team faces Penn State on Saturday in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Classic, you'll be able to see the game live.
But you'll need an Internet connection - and an Internet provider that makes ESPN3.com available - in order to do so.
Kentucky's Saturday game against Penn State will air live on ESPN3.com.
The Kentucky-Penn State game, which tips off at noon on Saturday from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., will appear exclusively on ESPN3, the sports network's online home for game broadcasts.
It's one of about 150 college basketball games that the network will make available exclusively online this season, said Mike Humes, communications manager at ESPN.
ESPN3 is available in about 70 million homes, Humes said.
Insight Communications and Time Warner Cable, the most prominent cable TV providers in Kentucky, offer ESPN3.com to households that subscribe to their Internet service. Click here for a complete list of ESPN3 providers.
The decision to make the game available exclusively online was ESPN's. UK was not involved, spokesman DeWayne Peevy said. A television deal was not part of the contract UK signed to participate in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off classic.
"We entered the tournament; we don't know TV at the time," Peevy said. "ESPN bought the rights and made it exclusive to ESPN3."
Kentucky's second game in the tournament, against either Old Dominion or South Florida on Sunday at noon, will air on ESPNU as well as ESPN3.com. Humes said the decision to make the rest of the tournament an online exclusive was based partly on the tournament schedule.
ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU will be airing football games at noon on Saturday, Humes said.
"Without putting it on ESPN3, it wouldn't be made available," Humes said.
The game will air on a delayed basis on the UK IMG Sports Network in Lexington (WKYT-TV, 7 p.m. ET), Louisville (WMYO-TV, 7 p.m. ET), Cincinnati (WSTR-TV, 8 p.m. ET), Evansville, Ind. (WTVW-TV, 7 p.m. ET), Hazard (WYMT-TV, 7 p.m. ET), Huntington (WSAZ-DT, 10:30 p.m. ET), and Paducah/Cape Girardeau (WDKA-TV, 8 p.m. ET).

if you got a flat screen tv with an HDMI hook up, hook that POOP up to your computer and you should be good to go. MOFO huddling around a 13" monitor to watch a screwing basketball game and/or watching a taped game where by then you'll know the dang result by that time.
