Game 11 -- #1 Tennessee 90, #2 Kentucky 65

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee hit a school record 16 three-pointers and raced away to a 90-65 win over Kentucky in the SEC Women's Tournament Championship on Sunday in Nashville. Tournament MVP Shekinna Stricklen was 5-of-6 from deep, and had 19 points to pace the Lady Vols.

KENTUCKY NOTES

• Kentucky is now 24-8 on the season, 24-32 all-time in the SEC Tournament.
• The Wildcats are now 1-2 all-time in SEC Tournament finals, falling to Tennessee each of the last two years.
• UK has faced Tennessee in all three of its appearances in the final, having defeated UT, 80-74, in 1982 in Lexington and losing last season to the Lady Vols, 70-62, in Duluth, Ga.
• Today’s loss snapped a five-game Kentucky winning streak, and the Wildcats are now 1-4 on the season against teams ranked in the nation’s top 25.
• Senior forward Victoria Dunlap finished as the leading scorer for the entire SEC Tournament, tallying 58 points in Kentucky’s three games. In four career SEC Tournaments (nine games), Dunlap totaled 143 points and 63 rebounds.
• Dunlap fell one rebound shy of her ninth double-double of the season and the 31st of her career as she tallied 15 points and nine rebounds in today’s game.
• Freshman guard Bernisha Pinkett shared the team lead as she had her ninth double-digit scoring game of the season with 15 points.
• Sophomore forward Brittany Henderson finished as the tournament’s leading rebounder with 33 boards in three games.
• Despite the loss, Kentucky won the rebounding battle 46-41.
• Tennessee’s 90 points were the most allowed by Kentucky this season; the previous high was 78 by both Louisville and Arkansas.
• Kentucky forced Tennessee into 22 turnovers, resulting in 28 Wildcat points.

TENNESSEE NOTES

• Tennessee is now 31-2 on the season, 66-17 all-time in the SEC Tournament.
• This marks the 15th SEC Tournament Championship for the Lady Volunteers. The team is 15-5 all-time in the SEC Title game and has won five straight title games in which they have appeared.
• Tennessee has won back-to-back SEC Tournaments for the first time since 2005-2006.
• Though the Lady Vols have 16 SEC Championships in the regular season, this marks just the seventh time UT has won both the regular season and tournament championships in the same season.
• Tennessee has now won 33 consecutive games against SEC opponents, dating back to a loss at Georgia on Jan. 21, 2010.
• Senior guard Angie Bjorklund scored 23 points to lead UT, including tying a personal-best with seven three-pointers.
• As a team, Tennessee hit 16 three pointers, breaking the all-time Tennessee record for made threes in a game. The 16 made threes is also an SEC Tournament record.
• Junior forward Alicia Manning scored 11 points and pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds for a double-double.
• Bjorklund and Manning were joined in double-figures by junior guard Shekinna Stricklen with 19 and freshman guard Meighan Simmons with 16.
• The Tennessee bench outscored its Kentucky counterparts 36-14.
