It really bothers me that UK fans hate Pitino. I don't understand how you can hate someone who did NOTHING BUT GOOD for Kentucky!

Yeah and it was really good for UK when he sold out and went to the NBA.
Then he comes back after getting his a-s waxed and coaches Louisville!
I like the man but I feel backinky DESERVES to call him dumb dumb and has every right to do so.
From the video I just watched he's not much better at judging college basketball talent than he is at making career moves OR his personal decisions in life.

Plus Big Red called Cal dumb dumb first. (now THAT was a childish comment by yours truly)

Yeah, I guess most people who aren't from the state of Kentucky would just pass up $50 million and near total control of the NBA's most storied franchise, right? You cannot fault Pitino for that. It was a coach's wet dream! ANY COACH ALIVE would have taken that once in a lifetime opportunity!

So, he failed in Boston and in the NBA. He found that his happiest time was coaching at Kentucky. He has horses and loves racing. The Louisville job opens and he takes it. Was it a personal attack on the University of Kentucky or their fans? Absolutely not! If you believe that, you really need help. His coaching at Louisville was the perfect opportunity for his interests, both coaching and horses.

I honestly don't get fans who attack the man. He has not one bad thing to say about the University of Kentucky. Not one! I'll root for Coach Pitino as long as he's coaching, no matter where he's coaching. If Louisville were to ever play Kentucky in the National Championship game and the Cards won, I'd would most definitely be devastated, and I would most definitely be happy for Pitino.

too funny. Coach Charles calls out Pitino. Ol' Ricky was pissed. Sorry, rick won us a championship but he still is a jerk. I appreciate everything he did but he still is a jerk. What an idiot.

Using the "coach dumb dumb" thing was a knock on BigRed...that's all. Just telling him who the real "coach dumb dumb" is. And yes it is childish. And to be honest, I respect ol' RickyP for what he did at UK.

I have no ill feelings towards Rick, nor UL. I expected a thread along these lines after Big Red putting the jab out there. He was just jabbing the UK fans, and this was just a counter punch. I never perceived this as at Rick, just at Big Red. Big Red has a lot of fun poking us. He's a good guy, he just got taken in by little brother.

Anybody would've taken the opportunity to coach the Celtics at that price, you'd be a fool not to. But to come back and coach our arch rival was a slap in the face to UK fans everywhere. I used to cheer for UL when they weren't playing UK but when I saw RP hug Turtleneck Tom coming off that plane, it was a scar that cut too deep. Yes, I appreciate everything RP did for us, I'm not sure anybody else could've accomplished what he did while he was here. But seeing him on the enemy sidelines makes me what to puke everytime.

I honestly believe Pitino had no cruel intentions in taking the Louisville job? I mean, why would he want to insult Kentucky fans who treated him like a rock star for 8 years? He didn't take the Louisville job to piss us off.

I don't know, some people will never change their minds. To me, it's just disrespectful for some fans to treat him like complete crap for doing something anyone of them would have done themselves.

Exactly what I was saying at the end of my first post on this topic. Of course we do live in the state of Kentucky and can't help it.

Considering Pitino hasn't won a championship at UL, I think he has done us a favor.
