Combine -Cobb could rise up draft boards

INDIANAPOLIS — After watching the wide receiver groups work out Sunday, it’s easy to see why A.J. Green and Julio Jones are considered far and away the best of the class. Nothing that did or didn’t happen on the field would change that.

Among the other 44 receivers, one prospect who might have helped himself is Kentucky’s Randall Cobb, who ran faster than most expected with a 4.45-second 40-yard dash. An NFC scout described Cobb as “competitive and scrappy” and said he graded out as an “A-plus character guy.”

Because of his size — 5-foot-10 1/4 and 191 pounds — Cobb projects as a slot receiver in the NFL. He also could make an impact in the return game and as a Wildcat QB.

Former NFL general manager Charley Casserly described Cobb as a “poor man’s Hines Ward.”

“I know he ran faster today, but he plays at about 4.6,” Casserly said. “I think he’s probably a third-round type guy.”

If nothing else, teams might be taking a second look at Cobb.

Why so he could go through another season being used inappropriatly by a conservative coaching staff? He may have came back had he though anything would be different. Who knows though?

I agree with ya, Joker would have got him hurt before it was over with.
