Hypothetical Numbers Game Empty Hypothetical Numbers Game

Post  Bho Sun Dec 05, 2010 3:27 am

Ok, I want to talk about something that doesn't involve the game again, so I got to thinking. There is an NBA lockout that is right around the corner. So let's say Enes gets eligible, and that due to the lockout all of our players come back for next year. I think the Magic Number is 12. We have 11 now (with Enes), and have four signed. We lose Harrelson to graduation so only 2 have to go. That is unless we get some more 5 stars. Who is out? My top 4
1. Hood-useless, obviously Cal has no plan for him. He just isn't good enough to play for Cal.
2. Polson-He will walk on, it's his dream.
3. Miller-Doesn't want to lead. Only Cal player that has not gotten better. I'm sick of him.
4. Poole-Just don't know where this kid fits.

I don't really want to play this game with nearly 30 games left in this season, and Enes still up in the air.

Its just hard to say, I can see Polson be letting go, but not Miller or Hood. If I was Hood I would transfer, I think Cal likes Miller.

I agree with BD. I don't see Miller going anywhere. He's not a natural-born leader and never will be but if he can help from time to time, we're going to need him despite his flaws. He may improve and if he does great but he's not bothering me being on the team or on the floor like some past players did.

Miller could be really damn good. That's what frustrates me most. He has a ton of talent, just doesn't seem to have the aggressiveness. If he ever decides to, he can average 18-20, and be a big time player. I just hope he decides to do so. He's just not "selfish" enough.

That's my problem with him. He seems to have no drive. Seriously, does anyone think he is any better than the day he stepped on campus? I don't think so. Just same ol' quiet Darius and fans saying how good he is going to be.

Your right, he came in the second half and hit 2 3's quick, But I don't want a player who doesn't want to shoot just when he feels like it, Lamb will shoot the ball . Hell even Hood would probably shoot more than Miller, if Hood didn't take 5 mins to get ready to shoot it. Also Liggens I believe needs to shoot more from the outside instead of driving every time, I am glad he can get to the basket, but once in a while pull up for the jumper.

I agree with Liggins. He was money on that pull up jumper from about 18-20' then he stopped shooting it. Honestly if you look at the skillset he has, and what he could do with it, Liggins could be a prime time player, but he seems to only focus on one thing and hasn't put it all together yet. He could be scary good if he wanted to.

As for Miller, I don't know anymore. He aggravates me more than he doesn't. He's a good shooter, but when he misses or gets called for a foul he's done. I want to see him go out there and be aggressive for once. Have some fun, Darius. Pop your jersey, bang your chest, something. We know you're a good kid, but c'mon.

I don't think it is fair, or accurate, to say Miller is no better. He is definitely better. It is just so frustrating to know how much better he could be. Maybe he'll put the foot to the gas this year. We are definitely going need him.

For that matter, this team is un-ranked, and no post-season expectations without him.

Any chance the NCAA allows more roster spots if there is a lockout?

I would doubt it. But who knows. The NCAA has proven time and again that they can do what they want. It all probably depends on Duke's numbers and whether they have an issue.

They need to set a timetable for this or we may never get a decision.

I have to disagree. I'm not seen anything from Miller that makes me think he's more than a so-so role player. I've never been impressed with him.
Liggins has more potential in my opinion simply because he has more body control. I think his problem is that he's not the brightest bulb in the pack.
