Wife scores in the first hour or opening morning again

Hunted with my wife in a blind this morning. Watched her make a perfect double lung shot on a 6 point at 75 yards. She had to shoot off-hand. It was a good shot. This makes 4 straight years that she has killed a buck in the first hour of opening morning. That is the fattest deer I've ever gutted.

LOL, he should have good marbling as much corn as I've fed them this year. I took a friends 14 year old yesterday afternoon, and he got his first deer ever. A big doe, prolly 120+ dressed. She was a long ol doe. That was very cool to be a part of. I guess I'm getting soft. Opening day, and I take my wife and a kid for a sure kill. I did hunt for me this morning, and didn't see a dang deer. Had a buck chasing a doe around and grunting before daylight, but she led him to the adjoining farm. I heard a shot very close from that direction shortly after daylight. Whatever he was, is no longer alive.

We've had a good season so far. I got an 8 point 15" spread and my son got a 7 point 15 1/2" spread plus a doe.
Now its time to fill the freezer further with more does.

I'm going to have to go wih Cali. I haven't seen squat since the opening day of gun season. I think they are all in their bomb shelters. Still getting pics of bucks on my cameras but all in the middle of the night.

LOL, I haven't even seen a decent buck while hunting since early bow season. I had over 500 deer pics from Sunday noon thru noon today. Biggest buck was the same basket rack 8 I've passed at 10 yards 3 times this season. That was at the farm where my wife killed last Saturday morning. 7 different bucks during daylight hours, and the 7 together wouldn't score 150. Going to my other place at Mammoth Cave tomorrow. Stuck out there last weekend, but it could happen at any time. That's what keeps me going. Good luck.
