Will UK win the appeal on Kanter?
Re: Will UK win the appeal on Kanter?
Unfortunately, I don't think we'll win the appeal. I think we have to focus on running the show without a true big man.
It was encouraging seeing the performances from Jones, Lamb and Knight last night. Those three were amazing. If we can make the outside shot and play solid D, we'll be ok in the long run.

I think chances are slim to none.

I'm a glass half-full guy. I think it is at least 50-50.

I voted for the last one because it was just too funny not to have a vote for it. I like their chances of the appeal but I don't think they'll get the ruling in their favor, so I'm leaning no right now.

I've said all along he would play. His dad kept meticulous records. I think the appeal board will look at it in a more subjective view, and ultimately rule that he did intend to go to college, and rule him eligible. The fact that they still have the money will help.

So can we expect this ruling somewhere at the tail end of 2013?

The hearing is December 1-3. Apparently its nothing like the NCAA process and should be ruled upon by the end of that week. If I were you all, I'd just start planning on not seeing Enes in a UK jersey. We can still be an Elite 8 type team, but as far as NC hopes, its probably time to start thinking about next year.

I don't understand why that would matter. If they took money does it really matter if they spent it?

Its a group of different people who will be judging it this time, Kanter will have the chance to talk this time, and to prove himself. Doesn't hurt to wish.

I don't hold out great hopes with the NCAA yielding anything to UK. True they gave us a break a few years back with Mr. "I'm going pro, now I'm not", but this one will be truly game / season changing for us......too much of a break for us to get him. I'm generally upbeat with the exception of when the NCAA is involved with it.
I say let's make the best of it and let Calipari's Thoroughbreds start running the motion offense like it has never been run before.....

Well, look at this way. Does it look better that they still have the money than it would if he took $33,000 and bought a new SUV and pimped it out? It would sure make a difference in my mind if I was looking at the situation.

What are the odds Selby get eligible and Enes doesn't? 2/1?
